Forestry Committee
Mission Statement
The Forestry Committee, a group of volunteers from the town appointed by the Selectmen, shall manage the town forests. The main purpose of having town forests is to encourage the proper management of timber, firewood and other natural resources through planting, timber stand improvement, thinning, harvesting, reforestation and other multiple use programs consistent with the forest management program, any deed restrictions and any pertinent local ordinances or regulations. (Per RSA 31:111)
Recreational Use Policy:
The use of wheeled motorized vehicles is not permitted on town forest land, with the exception of individuals needing handicapped access.
Current Projects:
- Working on the Lydia Dodge Lot - Boundary lines - Forest inventory sampling plots
- Marking timber on the Johnson Lot
- Update Forest Management Plans
