Follansbee Forest

The Follansbee Forest is an 11 acre parcel that was placed in the care of the New Boston Forestry Committee in 1978. A historic homestead site previously used as pasture land, this forest is diverse in wildlife and tree species mix. There is a stream and collection of vernal pools that require special attention with regard to sustainable forestry practices. Two town maintained roads provide easy access to this parcel, Tucker Mill Road as an easterly boundary and Saunders Hill Road which bisects the property. There are no trails located on this property. Please read through the attached forest management plan that explains the how and why of uneven forest stand management as well as the protection of wetland and wildlife diversity on this property.
