The New Boston Police Department offers 24 hour police coverage and is comprised of 9 full-time and 3 part-time sworn Officers. We are supported by a full-time Administrative Assistant and a part-time Records Clerk. We are located just 20 minutes west of Manchester within Hillsborough County and serve a community of 5,576.
 
The Town of Goffstown provides dispatch services for the New Boston Police Department.  For non-emergencies, we can be reached @ (603) 487-2433. Our emergency dispatch number is (603) 415-1212 or (603) 497-4858.

As Police Chief and a resident of New Boston, I cannot state strongly enough how proud I am of the members of this Department.  Despite the many challenges and tragedies our staff encounter, the Officers and Administrative staff continue to provide service at the highest levels.  We are committed to building our partnership with the community and strengthening the bonds we have built over the last six years.

FELONY INDICTMENT

On August 15, 2018, RONALD H. GEARLES, age 57, of Manchester, NH, was indicted on the Felony charge of CRIMINAL THREATENING (USE OF DEADLY WEAPON). 

The indictment stemmed from an incident on June 12th, 2018, at 3:58pm, on Bedford Road in New Boston.  Officer Andrew Vollaro and Officer James Moran responded to the scene and made contact with a female victim, who reported being a passenger in the vehicle Gearles was operating when he threatened her with a knife.  Gearles fled the scene following the incident.  With the assistance of the Manchester Police Department, Gearles was subsequently located and taken into custody. 

He is scheduled for trial in the Hillsborough County Superior Court (North).

FELONY ARREST

On September 9th, 2018, CRAIG R. ROWELL, age 35, of New Boston, NH, was arrested on the Felony charge of SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT.  Rowell was also charged with the Class A Misdemeanor offenses of:  DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ASSAULT, SIMPLE ASSAULT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CRIMINAL THREATENING, CRIMINAL THREATENING, FALSE IMPRISONMENT, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, & BREACH OF BAIL CONTIONS.

The indictment stemmed from a domestic violence incident that began on September 8, 2018 and was reported to Officer Jesse Byam on the morning of September 9, 2018.  A warrant was issued on the evening of September 9th and Rowell was arrested at his home without incident.  He was transported to the Hillsborough County House of Correction and arraigned in the Hillsborough County Superior Court on Monday September 10, 2018.       

He is scheduled for trial in the Hillsborough County Superior Court (North).
