WINTER REMINDER - PUBLIC SAND USE As a seasonal reminder, and for public safety while our trucks are actively working, the New Boston Highway Department asks residents to follow the Public Salt/Sand Policy adopted by the Board of Selectmen on January 14, 2013...

PUBLIC SAND USE Salt is strictly off limits Sand/Salt mixed material is permitted and recommended for PAVED driveways Straight Sand material is permitted and should be used on DIRT driveways (mix will create mud) No contractors are permitted to access any material, regardless of town residency (continued)

PUBLIC SAND USE (continued) Other things to know: Residents are permitted to take NO MORE than five (5) five-gallon pails Residents are permitted to take material ONCE per storm event Residents must provide their own containers Residents must provide their own means to load and transport the material Use of public sand/mix material is at the user’s own risk

NOTE: When entering the yard, you are entering an active work zone. To keep everyone safe, please do not walk or drive behind equipment, and wait to access the sand pile until crews have finished working in that area.
