Open Space Committee
Working to preserve New Boston's natural resources and rural character.
Some accomplishments:
- Acquisition of 195 acre property - The Tuthill Woodlands Preserve on Tucker Mill Road donated to the Piscataquog Watershed Association.
- Conservation easement on 115 acres donated to the Town of New Boston to protect prime wildlife habitat and wetlands.
- Conducted review of town records to identitfy all existing conservation easements in town.
- Examining open space plans from other towns to provide a framework for generating our own.
- Continued to work with neighboring towns exploring the potential benefits of a regional conservation effort
