New Boston Needs You!

October 22, 2026

We’re looking for New Boston residents to join the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA).

As a volunteer ZBA member, you’ll play a key role in interpreting and upholding our local zoning ordinances, hearing appeals, and making thoughtful decisions that balance individual property rights with the character and vision of New Boston.

What You’ll Do

  • Review Appeals & Variances: Listen to land use appeals, evaluate requests for variances and special exceptions, and make fair decisions based on New Boston’s zoning regulations.
  • Serve Your Hometown: Help ensure fair land-use decisions that protect neighborhood integrity, public safety, and our town’s rural character.
  • Learn the Ropes: Follow standard meeting rules and local procedures—no prior experience needed! Training resources, webinars, and state land-use tools are readily available to get you up to speed.

Details & Commitment

  • Term Length: 3 years
  • Meeting Frequency: 3rd Wednesday every month at 6:30 PM (or as scheduled when applications are pending)
  • Time Commitment: Roughly 2-3 hours per month, including pre-meeting application reviews.
  • Qualifications: Must be a resident of New Boston.
